Council on Social Work Accreditation:
Following the successful approval of the Candidacy Eligibly Application, the Benchmark 1 document, and a very successful site visit in fall 2011, the MSW Program at MSU Denver is proud to announce we are in candidacy status! Per CSWE policy, programs are to accept students during the same academic year that the program receives candidacy status. The MSW Program needed to obtain candidacy status by June 2012 to meet this requirement, so we are ahead of schedule! Per CSWE policy, students who began the program in Fall 2011 may be grand parented into receiving a CSWE accredited degree once program accreditation has been secured. Full program CSWE accreditation may possibly be awarded as early as February 2014, although Metropolitan State University of Denver and the Social Work Program cannot assure or guarantee this.
Regular (2-Year)Program
If your undergraduate degree is not in social work, you must complete the full, two-year (60 semester hours) Master of Social Work program, including certain prerequisites. If you are ready to apply, carefully review the admissions requirements.
Advanced Standing Program
If your undergraduate degree is in social work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, you may qualify for the advanced standing, one-year (30 semester hours) Master of Social Work program. If you are ready to apply, carefully review the admissions requirements.
