Application Materials and Deadlines for the Social Work
Admission Procedure for Social Work Majors
Students who have decided to pursue an undergraduate degree in Social Work should declare Social Work as their major either when applying to Metropolitan State University of Denver, or as soon as possible after deciding to major in Social Work. Advising is required for all students majoring in Social Work and is available in the Social Work Department Office located in Central Classroom 207. Declaration of Major forms may be picked up in the Admissions Office in the Student Success Building (SSB) 170 or in the Social Work Department Office.
Students must apply to the Social Work Department in the Spring semester prior to the Fall semester in which the student intends to start the Social Work Program, and be accepted into the department before registering for any Social Work core classes. Social Work Department admission packets may be printed from the web site below. The application deadline is March 1st. Students will be notified of their acceptance prior to registration for the next Summer and Fall sessions.
The Social Work Department only accepts new majors once per year. Students may only begin the Social Work Program in the Fall semester. All prerequisites must be completed prior to the Fall semester in which students start the Social Work Program.
