Community Based Learning

MSU Denver's strategic planning goal #3 is to engage, collaborate and work with the community.  In support of this strategic planning goal, the Office of Student Activities has Community Based Learning opportunities that link education and learning with volunteerism and participation with community based organizations.

Throughout the academic year, students have opportunities to volunteer with community agencies within the seven county metro Denver area.  Past community agencies include:  Assisted Cycling Tours, Food Bank of the Rockies, Friends of Dinosaur Ridge, Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, and many more!
Past participants state that the Community Based Learning program has given them:

  • a greater understanding of social issues within the metro Denver area,
  • opportunities to meet  and participate with other MSU Denver students,
  • a chance to connect with faculty and staff outside the classroom,
  • and a warm fuzzy feeling that can only be achieved by giving back to your community!

Visit the Office of Student Activities in Tivoli 305 to learn more about how you can get engaged in your community!
