Teacher Work Sample Information
The Teacher Work Sample is a required standards-based unit plan completed during student teaching. It includes:
- a description of the teaching context,
- an integrated instruction and assessment plan aligned with learning outcomes,
- an assessment of students prior to instruction with respect to the post-instruction expectations,
- modifications to instruction based on pre-assessment results, and
- an interpretation of post-instructional results.
Throughout creation and development, the Teacher Work Sample is evaluated by the university supervisor assigned to the placement. Successful completion of this component is required by the state for verification of completion for licensure.

Guidelines for choosing the correct CRN for your teacher work sample are:
| 16 week initial licensure and interns | 12 credit CRN |
| K-12 P.E. initial licensure | 1st 8 week placement CRN |
| K-12 Music initial licensure | determine CRN with supervisor |
| Dual Licensure | 6 credit CRN in main licensure area |

Blackboard Outcomes is our assessment system and only used for collecting data based on the assessments for students’ artifacts. No person will be able to access student artifacts, assessments or any other information within Outcomes other than students’ instructors and the Outcomes administrator for purposes of troubleshooting any problems. Art students are not storing their portfolios here.
Since the art students sometimes have very large files to upload, which can cause problems when uploading, they may delete some of the graphics from their artifact before submitting.
