Teacher Work Sample

Teacher Work Sample Information

The Teacher Work Sample is a required standards-based unit plan completed during student teaching.  It includes:

• a description of the teaching context,
• an integrated instruction and assessment plan aligned with learning outcomes,
• an assessment of students prior to instruction with respect to the post-instruction expectations,
• modifications to instruction based on pre-assessment results, and
• an interpretation of post-instructional results.

Throughout creation and development, the Teacher Work Sample is evaluated by the university supervisor assigned to the placement.  Successful completion of this component is required by the state for verification of completion for licensure.
