Fingerprinting
All students entering the Master of Arts in Teaching program are required to submit fingerprints for a state and federal background check before conducting any hours within a field experience course.
How to Complete Your Finger Prints
Finger print cards and information on how to complete the process may be obtained by the program specialist in West Classroom #136S. Once the fingerprinting is completed, cards should be returned to the program specialist along with a signed cashier's check or money order made out to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation in the exact amount of $39.50. Please make sure to sign the money order or check.

How to Verify Your Prints are on File with CDE
Anyone who has already completed a background check within the past five years is not required to have fingerprints resubmitted to the Colorado Department of Education. Please visit this link to see if your fingerprints are on file at the Colorado Department of Education.
Colorado Department of Education Fingerprinting Database
If this page shows that your fingerprints are “Met”, you will not have to resubmit your fingerprints through us. If you know you submitted your fingerprints through CDE and the page comes up showing “Must Submit Fingerprints”, it may be that your fingerprints have not yet cleared through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation yet. This process can take up to 4 months.
