Certificate Program

The Technical Communication and Media Production Department also offers a certificate program:

TECHNICAL WRITING AND EDITING

  • COM 2610 - Introduction to Technical Writing
  • COM 3620 - Technical Editing
  • COM 3630 - Designing Technical Publications
  • COM 3670 - Writing for Environmental Industry

Choose one of the following:

  • COM 3635 - Producing Documents for Web/Print
  • COM 3640 - Writing Software Documentation
  • COM 3650 - Writing Hardware Documentation
  • COM 3660 - Proposal Writing
  • COM 3780 - Communication Law

Each certificate program is comprised of five to eight academic credit classes (15-24 credit hours) as determined to be academically appropriate. Certificates are designed to stand alone or merge with a major or a degree program. All course requirements apply to certificate students and grades are assigned. A student must earn a grade of "C" or better for the course to count toward a certificate.
