Add Metadata

Metadata includes all the information about a specific file, for example the file name, the date the file was created, and the date it was last modified all are types of metadata. You can edit the metadata for your file by doing the following:

1.  Open the PDF you want to edit the metadata for

2.  Go to File > Properties


3.  Under the Description tab, do the following:

  • Next to Title you can enter a more descriptive title name

  • Next to Author you can type in the author’s information

  • In the Subject area you can enter a subject of the PDF

  • In the Keywords box type in any words that people can use to search for the document, separate them with commas

  • Click on Additional Metadata…

    • In this window you can add more information such as the Author Title, the Description Writer’s name, as well as any Copyright information
    • Click OK when you are finished

4.  Click Ok to save the metadata for that PDF
