Use AutoFill

Instead of entering data manually on a worksheet, use the AutoFill feature to fill cells with data that follows a pattern or that is based on data in other cells.

 

AutoFill Month and Date

  • Click  the cell

  • Click and drag Fill Handle


AutoFill incremented/decremented list of number

  • Hold CTRL key

  • Click and drag Fill Handle


Customize series

  • Select multi-cells

  • Click and drag Fill Handle


Customize list

  • Go to File tab > click Options

  • In the Excel Options dialog box, do the following:

    • Click Advanced

    • Go to General section > click Edit Custom Lists button

  • In the Custom Lists dialog box, do the following:

    • Enter the new custom list

    • Click Add
