Add Cover Pages

Word 2010 includes a gallery of Cover Pages with placeholders for document information such as author name, document tittle and document date

 

Insert the cover page for the document

  • Go to Insert tab > Pages group > click on Cover Page

  • Select a desired cover page layout from the gallery of options

  • After inserting a cover page, replace the sample text with document information text by clicking to select an area of the cover page, such as the title, and typing the text

  • If the Cover Page has a picture inserted, right-click on the picture > select Change Pictures to browse a different image


Replace a Cover Page created in an earlier version of Word

  • Delete the first cover page manually

  • Add a cover page with a design from the Word gallery

 

Delete a Cover Page

  • Click anywhere on the cover page

  • Go to Insert tab > Pages group > click on Cover Page > click Remove Current Cover Page


Save a custom cover page in Cover Page gallery

  • Select all the elements in the cover page

  • Go to Insert tab > Pages group > click on Cover Page > click Save Selection to Cover Page Gallery

  • In the Create New Building Block dialog box, do the following:

    • In Name box, enter a name for the custom cover page

    • Click OK

 

Quick notes

  • Word will automatically put the cover page at the start of the document

  • If inserting another cover page in the document, the new cover page will replace the first cover page
