Apply Quick Styles
When working on a document that was manually formatted using the commands in the Font and Paragraph groups, it might be easier to clear all the formatting and apply Quick Styles
Apply Quick Styles for a scratch document

Select the document title and apply the Title style

Select highest level headings and apply the Heading 1 style and Heading 2 style for the sub-level headings

Hold CTRL and select multiple Heading 1 or Heading 2 and format them at the same time
Apply Quick Styles for a document formatted consistently manually

Select the document title > apply the Title style

Right-click on the heading text > point to Styles > click Select All Text With Similar Formatting (No Data)

Go to Home tab > Styles group > click the down arrow and select Heading 1 or Heading 2 style in the Styles Gallery

Apply bold formatting for the text by using Styles

Select the document title > apply the Title style

Right-click on the text formatted bold manually > point to Styles group > click Select Text With Similar Formatting

Apply bold formatting for the text by using Styles

Right-click on the text formatted bold manually > point to Styles group > click Select Text With Similar Formatting

Go to Home tab > Styles group > click the down arrow and select Strong style in the Styles Gallery

Clear Formatting

Select the whole document by holding CTRL + A
-
Go to Home tab > Styles group > click the down arrow at the Styles windows > select Clear Formatting
