Insert Page breaks
When the document has more than a page worth of text, it is necessary to be attentive to how the document breaks across pages

-
Select the paragraph to control page breaks
-
Go to Home tab > Paragraph group > click Paragraph Dialog Box Launcher arrow

-
In the Paragraph dialog box, do the following:
-
Choose Line and Page Breaks tab
-
Under Pagination section, select desired options
-
Window/Orphan control – place at least two lines of a paragraph at the top or bottom of a page
-
A professional-looking document never ends a page with just one line of a new paragraph or starts a page with only the last line of a paragraph from the previous page.
-
The last line of a paragraph by itself at the top of a page is known as a widow.
-
The first line of a paragraph by itself at the bottom of a page is known as an orphan
-
Keep with next – prevent page breaks between paragraphs in order to keep the paragraphs together on a single page
-
Keep lines together – prevent page breaks in the middle of a paragraph in order to prevent from breaking into two pages
-
Page break before – specify a page break before a paragraph in order to create page break before a paragraph
