Modify Page Layout

  • Three page layout settings: Margins, Page Orientation, and Page Size are all used to determine how the document will look when it is printed
  • All the Page Layout settings can be found on the Backstage View under Print option

Set Page Margins

Page Margins are the blank spaces around the edges of a page

  • Go to Page Layout tab > Page Setup group > click on Margins

  • Select desired options from the dropdown

    • Normal – one inch all the way around the document (default setting)

    • Narrow – a half inch all the way around the document

    • Moderate – leave large margins at the top and the bottom of the document

    • Wide – leave huge wide margins at the left and right side of the document (used for revising the document)

    • Mirrored – give an inch-and-a-quarter on the left odd numbered pages, the side where a three-hole punch would be

    • Custom Margins – custom page margins in the Page Setup dialog box

  • Select the desired option either Portrait or Landscape
