Add Sound to a Presentation

You can add any audio that is located on your computer, including audio files, songs from your music library, or even sounds that you record, to your presentation

1.   Select the slide to add the audio file to

2.   Do one of the following:

  • From the Toolbar, click Media Browser button > select Audio button in the Media Browser dialog box


  • From the Ribbon, click Home tab > Insert > click Media button > select one of the following options:
    • Audio Browser
    • Audio from File
    • Record Audio

  • From the Menu Bar, click Insert > Audio > select one of the following options:
    • Audio Browser
    • Audio Browser
    • Record Audio

3.   If you select Movie from File option, the Choose a Movie dialog box displays. Do the following:

  • Navigate the video clip that you want to insert
  • Click Insert button

4.   A speaker icon  appears that represents the audio file in the selected slide

5.   Resize and position the audio icon if desired

 

Preview Audio on a Slide

1.   Select a slide you inserted the audio file

2.   On the slide, click the audio icon that you want to preview

3.   Below the audio icon, click Play

 

Play an Audio Clip across Multiple Slides

By default, audio plays only during the slide that the audio is on. However, you can set an option to play audio continuously across multiple slides

1.   On the slide, click the speaker icon  that represents the audio file

2.   From the Ribbon , click Format Audio tab > Audio Options > click Start list down arrow > choose Play Across Slides

 

Play an Audio Clip Continuously Until You Stop It

If the presentation is longer than the song, you can loop the song to replay it.

1.   On the slide, click the speaker icon  that represents the audio file

2.   From the Ribbon, click Format Audio tab > Audio Options > click Playback Options > choose Loop Until Stopped

 

Rewind an Audio Clip after Playing

1.   On the slide, click the speaker icon  that represents the audio file

2.  From the Ribbon , click Format Audio tab > Audio Options > click Playback Options > choose Rewind After Playing

 

Hide the Audio Icon during the Slide Show

NOTE   Use this option only if you set the audio to play automatically

1.   On the slide, click the speaker icon  that represents the audio file

2.   From the Ribbon, click Format Audio tab > Audio Options > click Playback Options > choose Hide Icon During Show
