Save Time with Outline Mode

Outline mode provides a fast way to edit the text of slides and create new ones without any distractions of color, font, pictures and diagrams. Outline mode helps to develop the brainstorming process by writing all the ideas and topics needed to be covered in the presentation.

 

Switch to Outline Mode

1.   Click the Normal View button

2.   From the top of the Navigation Pane, click Outline

  • Each number on the left, along with the slide icon, represents the slide
  • The text in bold is the slide title
  • The text under the slide title is the content which is usually displayed with bullets

 

Add Slides in Outline Mode

Do one of the following:

1.   Place the mouse pointer at the last slide in Outline pane and press RETURN

  • Type the slide title
  • Press enter and then press TAB to indent
  • Type the content of the slide

2.   Place the mouse pointer at text of first indent level, press SHIFT + TAB key to turn it become a title for a new slide

 

Edit Slide Content in Outline Mode

1.   To edit the text in the Outline mode, click on any text in the Navigation Pane and edit the text

2.   Use the shortcut keys to create bullets in slide content

  • TAB - indent to the next level
  • SHIFT + TAB -  indent to the previous level
