Explore Document Gallery

Document Gallery allows you to select and preview templates, from both the computer and online, and open recent documents.
The Document Gallery appears automatically when Word is first opened. To manually open it, from the Menu Bar, go to File menu > select New from Template…

There are several ways to create a new document such as:
- A blank document
- A new document based on an existing document
- A template from computer, Microsoft Office Online, or any one of number of different template locations
For creating a more specialized document, using templates is an easy way to save time and effort
To create a new document from a template on the Office.com Templates, you can select online templates in the far left panel in Document Gallery

Document Gallery can be used to open documents that have been recently saved

To open recent documents:
- Go the the box in the lower left corner of the Document Gallery labeled Recent Documents
- Select a time frame such as Today or Past Week
- The documents from that time frame will appear in the gallery and you can select which document you wish to open
