Insert Illustrations in the Document
Using images, Clip Arts, shapes, charts and diagrams to illustrate an idea, or to serve as a symbol that helps readers remember the text and make a connection to the text
Search for and Insert Graphics to the Document
Insert a Picture from iPhoto
1. Place the insertion point where the illustration needs to be inserted
2. Do any of the following:
- From the Menu Bar, select View menu > click on Media Browser

- On the keyboard, press CONTROL + COMMAND(⌘)+ M
- From the Standard Toolbar, click the Show or Hide Media Browser button on the Standard Toolbar

3. In the Media dialog box, click on the Photos tab and do the following:
- Locate the picture
- Double click the picture to insert or click drag it into the document

Insert a Picture from a File
1. From the Ribbon, go to Home tab > Insert group > click on Picture > select Picture from File…

2. In the Choose a Picture dialog box, do the following:
- Locate the file you wish to insert
- Click Insert

Insert a Picture From a Web Page
1. Drag the picture from the Web page
2. Drop it into the document
NOTE Make sure the picture is not a link to another Web page because it will be inserted in the document as a link instead of an image
Insert a Linked Picture from a Web Page
1. On the Web page, right-click the picture > click Copy

2. In the document, right-click the place where picture will be inserted > click Paste

Search and Insert Clip Art
Browse for Clip Art:
1. Place the insertion point where the illustration needs to be inserted
2. Do any of the following:
- From the Menu Bar, select View menu > click on Media Browser

- Press CONTROL + COMMAND(⌘)+ M
- From the Standard Toolbar, click the Show or Hide Media Browser button

3. In the Media dialog box, select Clip Art tab
- Scroll down to browse through Clip Art
- Drag and drop the desired image into the document

Search for Clip Art:
1. Do one of the following:
- From the Menu Bar, click on the Insert menu > Clip Art > choose Clip Art Gallery

- From the Ribbon, go to Home tab > Insert group > click on Picture > choose Clip Art Gallery

- In the Clip Gallery dialog box, do the following:

- In the Search for box, type a word or phrase that describes the clip art
- Click the arrow in the Show box and select Pictures, Motion Clips, or Sounds to limit the search results to a specific media type

- Click Search button
- In the list of results, click the a desired ClipArt to insert it
Search for Clip Art from Office.com
1. Do one of the following:
- From the Menu Bar, click on the Insert menu > Clip Art > choose Clip Art Gallery

- From the Ribbon, go to Home tab > Insert group > click on Picture > choose Clip Art Gallery

- In the Clip Gallery dialog box, click on the Online… button

- This will open a webpage in your default browser to search for Clip Art

Insert Shapes
1. Do one of the following:
- From the Ribbon, go to Home tab > Insert group > click on Shapes

- From the Standard Toolbar, click the Show or Hide Media Browser button > click on Shapes tab

- Click the desired shape

- Click anywhere in the document, and then drag to place the shape
- To create a perfect square or circle (or constrain the dimension of the other shapes), press and hold SHIFT while dragging the shape
