Use Indents
Understand Indents in the Document
- Indents refer to the extra white space added at the left margin so that a block of text can be set off from the rest of the text in the document
- First Line Indent
makes the first line of the paragraph indent, while the rest of the paragraph remains. To make a First Line Indent press the TAB key on the keyboard one time - Hanging Indent
sets where the second, and all the following lines, of a paragraph begin
- First Line Indent
- Indents are applied for an entire paragraph or paragraphs
- The default distance of the indent (default tab) is the half-inch
Apply Indents for an Entire Paragraph or Paragraphs
1. Select an entire paragraph or paragraphs
2. Do one of the following:
- To increase the indent, go to Home tab > Paragraph group > click Increase Indent button
- To decrease the indent, go to Home tab > Paragraph group > click Decrease Indent button
