Share issues with the Problem Steps Recorder
Sometimes, you are unable to resolve a computer issue by yourself, you many need to get some help from other people. However, the most difficult thing is to describe what’s happening on your screen to the third party. In Windows 7, there is a built-in feature called Problem Steps Recorder which will take screen shots and allows a third party to see what exactly is happening on the screen to find appropriate solutions for your problems.

Go to Control Panel

Click Find and fix problems link under System and Security category

Under Record a problem that you’ve having with this computer, click Problem Steps Recorder link

On A Problem Steps Recorder window, there is a record button, some other options for adding comments and so on

Click Start Record button to start record everything you do on the screen. Each click displays a new screen shoot

Click Add Comment button to add a comment at any time during the recording process

Enter a comment in the blank field of Highlight Problem and Comment dialog box

Click OK to confirm add the comment

Click Stop Record button to stop the recording. Follow the prompt to save the recording file as a zip file

To share the recording file with the third party, you can attach it to and email or send it off to somebody on the network by copying it over

When the third party receives it, they double click to open up the zip file and they will see the file contained inside the zip folder, then double click on the file to automatically launch their default browser to display the steps.
