Techniques to Navigate in Windows
Move a file, folder, or items (objects) from one location to a different location

Move the cursor over a desired object

Do the following:

Click the left mouse button to select the object
-
Hold down the left mouse button and drag it to a desired location

Release the mouse button to place it.

Quick notes:
-
While dragging the object, there is a little message down below to indicate that it is moving to a location
-
The moved object no longer exists in the original location

Undo a last action
Press CTRL+Z on the key board
Place a copy of the object

Move the mouse over the desired object
-
Do one of the following:
-
Click the left mouse button to select the object, hold down left mouse to drag it to a desired location, hold CTRL key on the keyboard and release the mouse button to place a copy of the object

While dragging the object and holding the CTRL key, there is a little message down below to indicate that it is copying to a location

Press the right mouse button, hold it, drag over to the new location, release the mouse button and select a desired options from the shortcut menu

Copy here

Move here (bolded because it’s a default)

Create shortcuts here - create shortcut to the object which means it’s not going to copy it to the new location

The shortcut icon will have a little arrow to indicate this a shortcut to the original object which still exists in the original location
- Click the right mouse button on the selected object, select Copy from the shortcut menu, click the right mouse button anywhere at a desired location and select Paste from the shortcut menu

- Use the keyboard shortcut

CTRL + C to copy the original object

CTRL + V to paste a copy of the object to a desired location
Delete an object

Do one of the following:

Click the right mouse button to select the object > press DETELE key on the keyboard

Drag the object and drop it in the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop

- Click the right mouse button on the selected object > choose Delete on the shortcut menu

- In the Delete File dialog box, select Yes button to confirm that the object will be moved the Recycle Bin

Quick notes
Deleted objects will stay in the Recycle Bin until the user empties it. To restore a deleted object from the Recycle Bin, double click the right mouse on the Recycle Bin icon to open it up just like other folders in Windows Explorer, then drag the desired object to a different location to restore it. To select more than one file at the same time, do one of the following:

For selecting files randomly, select the first item, hold down CTRL key on the keyboard and select another file

For selecting files in the list within a folder, select the first item, hold down SHIFT key on the keyboard and select the last item in the list
