Melody Harris joined HRO in 2008 as a senior counsel in the Intellectual Property, Technology and Media Practice Group. Her experience includes multiple aspects of international business and legal issues, including international licensing, transactions and business negotiations, intellectual property portfolio management and litigation. In her more than 18 years of legal work, she has worked in intellectual property for Qwest Communications; as general counsel for Encoda Systems, Inc., an international technology company; and as founder of the San Diego law firm Harris & Offner. Harris served as lead energy policy advisor of the Bill Ritter for Governor campaign and was a member of the Boettcher Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee and a fellow in the Bighorn Leadership Program. Currently she is a member of the Stapleton Development Corporation. Harris received her bachelor’s in political science from the University of Denver and her law degree from Harvard Law School, both cum laude.
