Administers and enforces Colorado's civil rights laws in employment, housing, and public accommodations. Receives and investigates complaints regarding discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodation, including sexual harassment and sex, age, or handicap discrimination, as well as race, creed, national origin/ancestry discrimination. Provides information and assistance to the public regarding civil rights laws, personnel policies, and fair housing. Also provides training and educational programs.

The U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights is another resource for campus-based harassment. Students are encouraged to utilize the institutional grievance procedure before filing a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights. Complaints must be filed within 60 days after completion of an internal grievance procedure with the Office of Civil Rights.
