The Activist Scholarship Application Form
The Activist Scholarship is designed to support students who are actively engaged in efforts to support positive social change in one or more of the following areas: environmental sustainability, human rights, peace, women's rights, GLBT rights, economic justice, or social justice.
Applicants must:
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher;
- Have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours at Metropolitan State University of Denver;
- Be enrolled as at least a half time student during academic year 2013-2014;
- Be engaged in community or campus activism around the issues listed above.
The deadline for application submission is 5 p.m. on April 5, 2013.
When considering the multitude of issues facing the planet right now from creating peace to feminist concerns, LGBTQIA rights, racial and ethnic equality, human rights and the environment, what do you perceive as the most pertinent social justice concern and why? How have you endeavored to address this through your activist work, either on or off campus or both?
