Notice of 60 Credit Hour Advising Hold
Attention: All Students Majoring in Business B. S. Programs
ACC, CMS, FIN, MGT, and MKT

The School of Business wants to help each student obtain a Bachelor degree in a timely and effective manner. Each semester every student that is about to complete 60 Credit Hours is required to receive advising from the department of his or her academic major. The primary focus of this advising session will be to review your Curriculum, Advising, and Program Planning (CAPP) Compliance Report for your major.

Are you required to see an advisor before registering for the Summer or Fall 2004 term?

• If you have completed less then 60 credit hours and the courses you are now taking will put your total credit hours at 60 or more, then you must see an advisor in your major department before you can register for Summer or Fall 2004 classes. However, if you have already received thorough advising from a faculty member and are fully aware of the degree requirements, you may request an advising waiver by completing an official form available in your major department.

• If you have already completed 60 credit hours or more hours before the Spring 2004 term, you are not required to seek advising before registration. However, it is highly recommended that you see your major advisor at least once each academic year during your junior and senior years.

If this policy applies to you, a notice of the advising hold will appear in your registration permit for the term. After you have been advised or completed the advising waiver request form, the advising hold will be removed.

See Degree Planning and Tracking Chart for more information.

Notice to all Pending Graduates in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Finance, Management, or Marketing

As a part of program quality assurance, all students will be asked to participate in a School of Business assessment activity during their last semester of enrollment. Students will be notified by the dean’s office early in their last semester, of the required assessment activity. This assessment activity may require the student to come to the Auraria campus at times other than scheduled classes. For students outside of the metro Denver area, arrangements will be made on a case-by-case basis. Details will be provided to you through an email from the Dean’s office.

The assessment activity scheduled for this semester is completion of either the ETS Profile test or the ETS business major field test. An email message sent to your Metro Connect account will describe in more detail the timing and provide web page addresses to find out more information about the tests and the testing process.
