ADDIE

A = Analyze

This is considered the most important step of the ADDIE process.

It is where we decide the Who, What, Where, Why and by Whom/What of the course.

To begin this process, ask the following questions:

What are the goals and objectives for learning?
What needs to be learned?
What is the current level of knowledge?
Who is the intended learning audience?
What resources are available?
Where and how will learning be delivered?
What is needed to successfully complete the course?

Using the results of the Needs Analysis, you will need to decide:

* Instructional Goals- Big Picture
What goals and objectives should the course address?
• Example, "Learner will use computers for educational purposes".

* Learning Outcomes - Results

What will happen as a result of the instruction?
• Example, "Learner will use the Internet as a research tool."

* Learning Objectives Competencies
What is required to complete the objectives successfully?
• Example, "Learner will judge if a web site is a credible source."

* Assessment

• How will student demonstrate what they've learned?
• Are assessments appropriate for cognitive level of objectives?
• Are there ways to provide authentic assessment?
• Will performance be assessed as a course grade or for self-assessment?
