CFDA Number - Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance Number. This is a
unique number created to track all domestically funded federal programs
available to state and local governments.

Continuing Support - An award where the funder initially pays for a specified period of time, usually a year and also provides a letter of intent for support in following time periods.

Endowments - Funds or property donated to an institution, individual, or

Fellowships - A financial grant made to a faculty member of student in
a college or university.

Foundations - An institution founded and supported by an endowment.

Funder - an organization that awards grants or funding to individuals or
organizations without expectation of repayment.

GAIN Network - Grant Authorization and Information Network. This is an
online program accessed through the website of the Office of Sponsored
Programs that provides assistance to faculty in applying for and
managing grant funding.

Grant - giving of funds for a specific purpose (According to
dictionary.com)

Matching Funds - In order to receive this type of award an individual or organization must match the funding provided by the original source with an equal amount of funds from other appropriate sources.

Mission Statement - A general statement of the type of organization, agency, or other body, its main purpose, and its values. Often called "statement of purpose." Some organizations also state the values that guide their work. (www.synergyaids.com/lacriaids/glossary.asp)
