A Tour of Metro’s Online Resources

The Office of Sponsored Programs at MSCD has assembled many valuable resources on their website to help faculty search for available funding. The next step in this workshop will be to take a tour of all the available resources.

To find the Office of Sponsored Programs website from the MSCD homepage:
1. Go to www.mscd.edu.
2. Click on "For Faculty and Staff" all the top navigation bar.
3. Under "Faculty Resources", click on the link "Office of Sponsored Programs."

First, we will look at the "Funding" section of the OSP’s (Office of Sponsored Programs’) site.

1. Look for the list of links on the top left-hand side of the page and click on "Federal/State Funding". This will provide you with a list of large agencies providing grant funding.

2. Click on the second link on the left called "Resources". This will provide you with a list of online resources for preparing and writing grant proposals.

3. The last link titled "Search" sends you to any online database of available grant funding. We will go over this search in detail in a minute.

The Office of Institutional Advancement also provides online grant resources. Their information focuses on funding from private foundations.

Now let’s review some of the resources provided by IA (Institutional Advancement):
