Letter From President of Board
(2007-2008)

Dear Fellow Alumni,

Thank you for giving me this opportunity to serve as the newly elected president of your Alumni Association. I come to you with over three years of Alumni Association board experience, two of which were served on the executive committee as Treasurer, and most recently, Vice President.

I am truly honored to be a part of our Alumni Association Board. It’s been a pleasure to serve and make a difference for our alma mater through fundraising for scholarships and community involvement. It has also been very exciting to work with and support President Stephen Jordan in his vision for Metro State to become the preeminent public urban baccalaureate college in the nation.

I am also honored to be working with such a diverse and qualified board of directors. Additionally, I would like to welcome our new Executive Committee, Past President Gerie Grimes (‘87), Vice President R.C. Montoya (’93), Treasurer Chuck Moss (’98), and Secretary Judy Schafer (’95 and ’97).

The Alumni Association’s mission is: “To cultivate relationships, motivate participation and create opportunities for a continuous connection with the College, its alumni and the community.” Its vision is “A network of connected alumni who call others to action in support of the College.

The mission and vision say it all! The Association will continue to set our goals by supporting the College in the areas of leadership, identity and visibility in the community, connections and relationships, and financial support.

We invite your involvement as an alumni “Roadrunner.” Let’s be heard and seen, while always making a difference for Metro State.
