Homecoming Royalty

Congratulations 2007 Homecoming Royalty!
The ideal Homecoming Royalty candidates were elected by the student body and showed excellence in the following areas:
• Academic Achievement (2.5 GPA required)
• Metro State Spirit
• Leadership
• Campus and/or Community Involvement

2007 Homecoming Royalty

 

Gary Esparza

Gary is a sophomore at Metro State.  He is President of the Fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon on campus. He played lacrosse for Metro State his freshman year. His major is criminal justice with a minor in political science. After he graduates from Metro, he plans to attend law school.

Jose Guardiola

Jose is a senior majoring in behavioral science and Chicano studies.  He will be the second person in his family to graduate from college.  He is a proud brother in the most honorable Sigma Lambda Beta Fraternity Inc., the largest Latino fraternity in America.  He works for El Centro Su Teatro, which is the third-oldest Chicano theater in America.  He is active in the community, tutoring children and promoting a scholarship he helped initiate.  He has brought guest speakers to campus plus served on multiple event committees such as Cinco de Mayo, Latino Graduation, Dia De Loa Muertos.

Kindal Kyle

Kindal graduated from Grandview High School in December 2005.  She is a freshman pursuing her criminal justice degree with a minor in criminalistics.  She plans to use her degree to become a homicide detective for C.B.I. or the F.B.I.  Kindal is the vice president of Phi Sigma Sigma, a new sorority that is becoming more involved on campus through fundraising and philanthropy.  She works at an elementary school planning activities and games for the children.  She also will be starting a job at the Connor Office.  She describes herself as a pretty laid back person who just loves to enjoy life.

Louisa Manalastas

Louisa has been involved on campus through the Office of Student Activities working with campus organizations and events.  She’s also been involved with Metro’s Student Government Assembly, CoPIRG’s higher education campaign, and an organization for empowering women called Beautiful Women’s Alliance.  She thinks Metro is a beautifully diverse campus that offers a lot of opportunity to gain real world experience. Her other interests are reading, writing, playing guitar, singing, dancing and art.

Melinda McClain

Melinda is studying psychology with a minor in criminal justice.  In the fall of 2006 she joined Phi Sigma Sigma, becoming a founding sister, and was elected President of the chapter.  She believes in supporting the athletics department and its achievements.  Philanthropy is a major priority in her organization; last week they held a bake sale that raised $200 for the National Kidney Foundation.  The group recently partnered with the Franklin Retirement Home to adopt a class at Archuletta Elementary School, in which they help provide students with every-day aid.

Erica Munguia  

Erica is a junior studying business management.   She is extremely active on the Metro State campus.  She is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, a senator for the Student Government Association and serves as Treasurer for the Beautiful Women’s Alliance.  She is the Tri Sigma representative for the Metro State Greek Council.  She looks forward to continuing her involvement on Metro’s campus.
