Student Organizations

There are more than 100 clubs and organizations that you can join as a Metro State student. Of these, two are of particular interest to students in the Aviation and Aerospace Science Department.

Precision Flight Team

Metro State’s Precision Flight Team competes with other members of the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) in ground and flight events at annual regional and national meets. Any Metro State student who is interested in improving his/her skills as a private or commercial pilot is encouraged to become involved by enrolling in Precision Flight and Navigation (AES 2330). Flight team membership will help you further develop flight and flight planning skills. In addition to fostering lasting friendships with your peers at Metro State and across the nation, participation affords you the opportunity to garner national name recognition, win scholarships, cash awards and flight training awards from airlines. Fundraising activities help cover some team expenses. The team also participates in community service activities.

For more information, contact Office Manager Gail Nickels at 303-556-4629 or visit our official Web site.

American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE)

Metro State’s student chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) seeks to promote professional development and instill professional attitudes in students engaged in the study of airport development, administration, management and operation, and related fields of aviation. All Metro State aviation students are invited to become members. As the world’s largest professional organization for airport executives, the AAAE represents thousands of management personnel at public-use airports nationwide and helps these professionals fulfill their responsibilities to a variety of airport and community constituencies.

For more information, contact Professor Jeff Price.
