


¿Qué es CAMP?
El Programa de Asistencia Universitaria para Trabajadores de Campo CAMP (por sus siglas en inglés) es un programa que ofrece becas universitarias a estudiantes que viven de familias cuyo trabajo principal ha sido labor agrícola migratoria o de temporada.
La beca de CAMP se ofrece solamente durante el primer año de universidad. Las metas principales del programa son las de ofrecer servicios de apoyo académico, social y económico.
Es un programa que ayuda al estudiante en la transición de escuela secundaria al ambiente universitario. Aunque la beca se ofrece solamente durante el primer año, los servicios de asistencia continúan durante toda su carrera universitaria. Los fondos económicos que apoyan este programa provienen del Departamento de Educación Federal Estadounidense.
¿Quién califica para CAMP?
Cualquier trabajador migrante o de temporada de trabaja en la agricultura, y/o sus hijos quienes tienen los tres (3) requisitos:
1. Tengan un diploma de high school O un GED.
Y
2. Ciudadano de Los Estados Unidos O residente permanente.
Y
3. Es considerado migrante o de temporada (por favor vea la lista de trabajos que se consideran agrícola migratoria o de temporada).
En los últimos 24 meses hayan trabajado por lo menos 75 días en la agricultura
O
Hayan participado en un programa educativo, o que sean elegible bajo los requisitos de “Chapter 1-Migrant Education”
O
Hayan participado en algún programa de WIA sección 167

The College Assistance Migrant Program (C.A.M.P)
The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is a program funded by the Office of Migrant Education of the U.S. Department of Education, and is administered by institutions of higher education. CAMP is designed to meet the academic, financial, and social needs of migrant and seasonal farm workers and/or their children, in pursing higher education. While the program provides its most intensive assistance during the students first year in college, the CAMP staff is available to assist students throughout their college experience.
Who May Apply to CAMP?
Any migrant or seasonally employed agricultural worker or his/her children who meets all three (3) qualifications:
1. * Has a high school diploma OR GED
AND
2. * Is a U.S. Citizen OR permanent resident
AND
3. Is considered Migrant or Seasonal, by having only ONE of the following:
* Within the last 24 months has worked a minimum of 75 days in farm work (see list of jobs that qualify as farm work)
OR
* Is eligible or has participated in a Migrant Education Program under chapter I-Migrant Education (no matter when they were in this program. Recruiter can check to see if the student was ever enrolled in this program).
OR
* Participated in a WIA section 167 program.
What Does CAMP Provide?
* CAMP staff is available to assist students throughout their entire college experience.
* Campus tours
* Application assistance
* College orientation
* Housing orientation
* Academic Advising
* Tutoring/ personal counseling
* Career development
* Job search assistance
* Educational/Cultural field trips
* Leadership development
* Extracurricular activities
We host a yearly retreat at Estes Park. Take them to plays, conferences, etc…
* Financial Aid
Help fill out the FAFSA and other financial aid forms, CAMP will pay for their first year (30 credit hours, plus fees). CAMP scholarship can only be applied to Metro State College.
* Health Service
We will pay for their individual medical insurance.
* Monthly Stipend for personal expenses
