Guideline for Third Party Recruiters

The COLLEGIATE CAREER SERVICES ASSOCIATION (CCSA) of Colorado and Wyoming support the following guidelines regarding third party recruiters.
It is appropriate for collegiate institutions to provide direct assistance to third party agencies under contract to employers only when they meet specific conditions. Direct assistance includes activities such as: resume referrals, arranging on-campus interviews, and advertising appropriate openings on bulletin boards, in announcements, on-line, or through telephone hot-lines.
CCSA members agree to provide direct assistance to third party agencies only when a third party recruiter meets the following conditions:
1. Charges no fees to the candidate.
2. Reveal the identity of the employer being represented and the nature of the relationship between the agency and the employer, and permit the career centers to verify this information by contacting the named client. Identify, on all announcements, the name of the employer being represented.
3. If requested, provide a position description for valid openings.
4. In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, release candidate information provided by the college or university exclusively and only to the identified employer.
5. Comply with all federal and state equal employment opportunity laws (Titles VI and IX, and ADA).
At the discretion of individual career centers, other conditions of this agreement may apply.
Member institutions of CCSA openly share with one another information about their interactions with third party agencies.
