Will Spence, Mike Rantz, Linda Spies, and Candace Grier called
to indicate that they could not attend the meeting.
The meeting was called to order at 2:50 p.m. The group was welcomed
and thanked for braving the snowstorm to attend. Introductions
were done as diverse groups were represented. An overview to project
activities was given. Most notable was the approval of human subjects
by the Human Subjects committee of Metropolitan State College.
The project is on schedule with the completion of the 20th Street
Recreation Center virtual environment. The environment will undergo
usability testing shortly.
The 20th Street Recreation Center was demonstrated to the large
group. Then, the group split into smaller work groups, each with
a laptop computer, to critique the 20th Street environment. Feedback
was will be compiled and used to begin the revision of the environment.
A request for research subjects was made. Thirty-six adults (over
age 18) with mobility impairments are needed to participate in
the summer research project at the 20th Street Recreation Center.
These individuals cannot have had prior experience using a community
recreation center. If you know of any possible subjects, please
contact Jane Broida (303 556-4206,
broidaj@mscd.edu).
It was announced that Candace Grier will be assuming responsibility
for the Consumer Advisory Council and acting as a Consumer Representative
to the CATT project.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:05, and people remained shortly
to socialize and eat.
