Minor Requirements
 

 

The minor can be designed to provide the student with course experiences that are relevant to occupational and educational goals. Students, in consultation with a faculty advisor in Chicana/o Studies, will develop individual minors that reflect the best possible elective curricula and ensure that a relevant emphasis is maintained. Total hours for the minor are 21.

Introduction to Chicana/o Studies
CHS 1000 3 credit hours

History of Meso-America: Pre-Columbian and Colonial Periods
CHS 1010/HIS 1910 3 credit hours

History of the Chicana/o in the Southwest: 1910—Present
CHS 1020/HIS 1920 3 credit hours

Survey of Chicana/o Literature
CHS 2010/ENG 2410 3 credit hours

Electives: Nine semester hours of electives in Chicana/o Studies are required and must be selected in consultation with the department chair.
