Center Staff

All of our advisors are here to assist you. All are generalists and have helped students develop a wide range of Individualized Degree Programs and to earn prior learning credit. They also have diverse backgrounds and interests.

Dr. Maureen Lancaster, Director, is an adult educator with a background in interdisciplinary education, adult learning and adult development. Dr. Lancaster has also worked in community adult education in Denver and in Cork, Ireland. lancastm@mscd.edu

Dr. Elizabeth Parmelee has a background in International Studies, education, and non-profit management. She has taught economics in Chile and Boston, and has worked with universitites and public school districts to enhance education at all levels. eparmel1@mscd.edu

Dr. Colby Hatfield, a cultural anthropologist, is a part-time advisor with the Center. He has experience in the University Without Walls, is director of the Honors Program at Regis, has taught anthropology at Metro and at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and worked in community and economic development in Tanzania. hatfield@mscd.edu

Sharon Wise, Portfolio Development Workshop instructor, has a background in college administration and teaching. She has presented at numerous national conferences and two international conferences on the subjects of disability and mental health service delivery and program development. swise8@mscd.edu.

Bobbie Fernandez, Program Assistant, has been with Metro for 30 years. She has worked both in the business administration and academic areas of the college. fernandb@mscd.edu

Our work-study student staff members are also here to help you. Several are pursuing Individualized Degree Programs themselves. They are: Darla Ruff, Kristine Shafer, and Mary Louisa Banuelos.
