The program objective for CIS students is to graduate with a foundation to become successful IS professionals within a business context, and the ability for life-long learning.
The program enables students to achieve the following outcomes within the framework of professionally accepted Information Systems practices:
| SO1: | Knowledge of basic information systems theory and concepts and the skills to apply this knowledge to the functional areas of business |
| SO2: | Knowledge of project management tools and techniques, and the skills to apply this knowledge to the functional areas of business |
| SO3: | Knowledge of programming processes including planning, writing, testing, executing and debugging, and the skills to apply this knowledge to the functional areas of business |
| SO4: | Knowledge of database design, development and management, and the skills to apply this knowledge to the functional areas of business |
| SO5: | Knowledge of telecommunications and networking systems, and the skills to apply this knowledge to the functional areas of business |
| SO6: | Knowledge of web-based systems and the skills to apply this knowledge to the functional areas of business |
| SO7: | Knowledge of operating systems and the skills to apply this knowledge to the functional areas of business |
