1. Minutes from the Nov. 5 meeting were read and approved with corrections.
2. Discussion of planned meeting with Dr. Jordan on Friday, Nov. 30, 2007 at 2-3:30pm. Russ had done a Draft of the Agenda, which was changed in the following way:
- Dr. Jordan’s opening remarks and comments
- Specific Questions/Topics from the COA for Dr. Jordan: o Status of Professional Development funds for Metro State Administrators on Upcoming Administrative Salary Review and nature of COA input on Salary Review on Morale issues among Metro State employees on Domestic partner benefits o Budget, future funding and Strategic Planning on State Legislature
- Open Questions and discussion
3. GEMS Survey Discussion. Judy Zewe. According to Lee Combs’ interpretation of the data, this survey was for classified employees only and does not affect faculty or administrative exempt employees, except as supervisors of classified employees.
4. Pay for Performance (P4P). Tara passed out the ballot that faculty are using to vote. They are voting for two things: First, whether to approve adoption of P4P and second, to determine the method of implementing it, by Dept. Chairs or by College Wide Committee or both.
5. New Hiring. The College has gone to People/Adm. for new hires, but many offices do not know this, even though it has been advertised, according to Judy Zewe. Tara suggested that perhaps she could do a new story in “@ METRO” outlining the new process because it is more efficient and would speed up the process.

6. Kathy McKay. Vice President-Student Services. Kathy stopped by today because she usually has the VP’s meeting and today it was cancelled. She talked about her biggest goal, which is retention and graduation, and is the most important issue we can work towards as she learns the campus and school. We spoke on issues we think are important, such as more hourly money to pay students, and the whole issue of textbooks being so expensive for students as well as the unavailability to students waiting for the FA checks.
7. Salary Equity Study. Judy answered our big question about our involvement in the process. We will be asked to participate when all the preliminary information is clear and settled. At that time a Committee will be formed and Natalie Lutes is looking for people from COA to be on that Committee.
