|Metro hosts tournament; volunteers needed||

Not only is Metro’s men’s basketball team the No. 1 seed in the North Central Regional Tournament on March 12, 13 and 15, they are the hosts for all seven games. The Roadrunners’ round-one match-up is 6 p.m., March 12, against the No.8-seed Northern State (S.D.).
Because they are the hosts, the Athletic Department needs volunteers to serve as ushers and door monitors. Volunteers will receive free admission to the tournament.
The games, which will all be held in the Auraria Events Center, are:

Meanwhile, don’t forget that the women’s basketball team has also earned a berth in the NCAA Division II national tournament. They will play in the first round of the North Central regional Friday at 3 p.m. (MST) against Concordia-St. Paul in Grand Forks, N.D. Editor’s Note: Two of the men’s basketball players names were misspelled in the March 7 Special Edition of This Week @Metro. The correct spellings are Keith Borgan and Ben Ortner. They, along with tournament MVP Mark Worthington, were named to the RMAC Shootout all-tournament team.
