We extend kudos this week to faculty, staff and students who continue to distinguish themselves and MSU Denver through their accomplishments.

Nicholas Recker, assistant professor of sociology and anthropology, published "Bonds, Bridges and Quality of Life in Small Towns" in the journal Applied Research in Quality of Life. The paper "examines the relationship between two types of social capital (bonding and bridging) and quality of life in small Iowa communities.”

Sheldon Steinhauser, associate professor of sociology, has been nominated to receive an Ally of the Year award from the Office of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Student Services at Auraria for his support of the LGBTQ community on campus.

History Professor Thomas J. McInerney is the principal editor of “Presidential Documents: Words that Shaped a Nation from Washington to Obama,"  (London: Routledge, 2012). This 424-page book, published this month, is a new edition of collected documents and commentary.
