Auraria Campus celebrates El Dia de Los Muertos
Oct 30, 2009

Festivities of El Dia de los Muertos will take place on the Auraria Campus next week to mark a time when Mexicans and Chicanos reflect their fear of death by mocking it in life. “Day of the Dead” is a time to celebrate, prepare special foods and honor the dead. Traditionally in Mexico and parts of the United States, the streets near the cemeteries are filled with decorations of streamers, flowers and candy skulls.

The festivities will include Aztec dancers, mariachi music, stage performances, face painting traditional refreshments and more. The events below are free and open to the all campus students, faculty, and staff.
