AHEC announces lab openings and classroom renovations
Nov 4, 2009

With the opening of new labs in the Science Building addition and closures of various parts of the South Classroom Building during renovation, remember to watch for signage and watch your step on campus.

New labs open
The Science Building addition has opened four labs on the first floor for use by CCD. The campus will have limited access to the first floor of the addition from Lawrence Street Walk (north side of the addition) and from 11th Street (west side of the addition).

Signage will be installed on the first floor to designate which areas are open to the general public. The contractors will continue to have the south entrances of the addition closed for construction use only, except in the case of an emergency, through the end of the fall 2009 semester, as shown on the linked map.

The entire addition is expected to be open for use by the campus community by the start of the spring 2010 semester.

Direct questions to Mike Turman, assistant project manager, at 303-556-2394 or at mike.turman@jacobs.com.

South Classroom renovation
The contractors working on the Science Building will also be completing the renovation of a portion of the South Classroom Building from Oct.r 30 through Jan. 10, 2010. The contractors will be completing work on the first and second floors of the South Classroom Building during this time frame.

The specific interior closures, exterior closures and work for the floors has been coordinated with the occupants that will be disrupted by the renovation. Signage will be placed to assist the general public in negotiating the closures and gaining access to adjacent areas of the building.
