Golich appoints Thompson as interim AVP
Oct 28, 2009

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Vicki Golich has announced the appointment of Sheila Thompson to the position of interim associate vice president of academic affairs for curriculum and program development.

“Sheila’s educational background and experience are a terrific match for this position, particularly given the additional responsibilities we have added to it recently related to master’s programs and general studies,”  Golich says. “She has also served as a faculty member and developed curricula, which helped prepare her for this role.”

Thompson, who holds a doctorate in higher education administration, has extensive administrative experience as director of university assessment and assistant provost for institutional research and assessment at the University of Denver for a combined 10 years. She also taught biology and graduate-level classes on student learning and assessment at DU. Golich also plans to recruit the assistance of some faculty members who will serve as associates to the Academic Assessment Office and consult with academic programs as they continue to refine their program assessment processes.
