Metro State provides ‘lion’s share’ of volunteers at homeless event

More
than 600 families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless were
assisted with services like rapid re-housing, basic medical exams, food
stamps and legal advice last Friday at Family Project Homeless Connect
(FPHC), thanks in part to more than 150 volunteers from Metro State who
helped them access the services they needed.

A team of Metro State students and alumni will help serve a plated luncheon to 110 guests at the Governor's Mansion on Saturday, Oct. 10. The team will be led by Jackson Lamb, assistant professor and director of culinary administration in the Department of Hospitality, Tourism and Events.

Metro State softball player Alaina Larson has been recognized for her bravery in helping save a young girl’s life by the Denver Police Department and the Daniels Fund.
