Colorado is expected this month to adopt a new state financial aid formula for higher education to promote retention and timely graduation, Gov. John Hickenlooper said in his State of the State address last Thursday, Jan. 10.

Amendment S on the Nov. 6 election ballot makes several changes to the state classified personnel system, including increasing flexibility in hiring, modifying the residency requirement and expanding the veterans’ preference.

The Colorado Legislative Council is predicting that, in spite of a somewhat pessimistic overall state economic forecast it released Sept. 20, General Fund revenues will increase in fiscal years 2012-13 and 2013-14.
