The Auraria Campus will be open on Wednesday, Oct. 3, the day of the Presidential Debate at the University of Denver, with all MSU Denver classes, student services and administrative functions continuing as usual that day.
RTD will provide normal weekday service, including at the University of Denver light rail station. There will be detours to the bus routes affected by street closures in the area. RTD recommends that commuters should plan to add time to their commute. For information and updates go to the RTD website.
MSU Denver employees traveling south should use an alternate route during the afternoon rush hour, as Interstate 25 will be completely closed in both directions from the Santa Fe Drive interchange to the Hampden Avenue interchange from approximately 5 to 10 p.m. These times are subject to change and there will be other street closures, so commuters are encouraged to visit the CDOT website for updates.
Employees who live in the DU area and those who will be affected by the late-afternoon I-25 closure may ask their supervisors for annual leave on Oct. 3; administrative leave will not be an option as the University will not close. Offices do need to remain open until 5 p.m.
