The upcoming holiday season will bring high traffic through Denver International Airport and so is perfect timing for up-and-coming artists wanting to showcase their work. From October 2009 to January 2010, Metro State art grads will have their work displayed at Denver International Airport in the northeast corner of the 6th level.
The exhibition Shows Promise at DIA features three artists – Chelsea Middaugh, Carolin Rutsche and Rebecca Taylor – who graduated from the Art Department in spring 2009.
Equipped with bachelor of fine arts degrees, the three alumni artists are exhibiting their BFA thesis work that was completed for their respective area of concentration within the department and for their required capstone course, Senior Experience Portfolio Development and Thesis.
To help tap into the significant student work at Metro State, Assistant Professor Jennifer Garner, who teaches the Senior Experience course, co-juried and co-curated the exhibition with the DIA Art Program.
She says even if you’re not leaving town, it’s an opportunity to view great work.
