Auraria to lock down campus during DNC
Aug 6, 2008

Officials from the Auraria Higher Education Center have announced that all Auraria Campus buildings will be locked from Aug. 23-29 during the Democratic National Convention. The buildings will re-open Saturday, Aug. 30.

Only pre-authorized campus personnel will be able to enter the buildings, as their campus IDs will be encoded specifically for access that week only. Authorized access will be limited to one access point per building and no visitors will be allowed.

As announced in the June 18 edition of This Week @Metro, Metro State will be closed the week of the DNC. All employees, except those who’ve been notified that they are considered essential personnel, will be placed on administrative leave and are required to be on call that week. To read more go to

Auraria has posted fliers on all campus buildings explaining the campus lockdown. For more information or questions call 303-556-3291.
