Events coming up early next week

The Metro State community is invited to attend several interesting, informational and entertaining events on campus this weekend and early next week.

‘The Diviners’
The Metro State Theatre Program is presenting “The Diviners” by James Leonard, Jr. Remaining performances are April 24-25 at 7:30 p.m. and April 26 at 2:30 p.m. in the Metro State Studio Theatre in the King Center. For ticket information call 303-556-2296.

Colloquium on Globalization
The Department of Political Science and the Office of the Dean of the School of Letters, Arts and Sciences will hold a Colloquium on Globalization on Tuesday, April 28, 10-11:30 a.m. in TIV Multicultural Lounge.

The colloquium will feature scholars Haider Khan, Ph.D. and Alan Gilbert, Ph.D., whose backgrounds are wide-ranging in scope. Khan is one of the foremost political economists in the country. He combines a distinct analytical capability with a far-reaching breath of discourse that runs from human rights, democracy, technology and economics, to James Joyce. Gilbert is a renowned international relations/political theory scholar who combines democratic and human rights theory.

Tri Institutional Education and Careers in Psychology Fair
Metro State, CCD and UCD are sponsoring a Tri Institutional Education and Careers in Psychology Fair on April 28, noon-4 p.m., in TIV 320 A and the lobby. The fair will be a one-stop shop for degree programs and opportunities for psychology and human service students.

Panel presentations on degree programs and careers in the areas of health psychology, community and public mental health, and forensic/criminal justice-related programs will be given. Representatives from the three Auraria institutions as well as UNC, DU, University of the Rockies, Argosy University and Kaplan Test Prep will be available to discuss their programs.

Several agencies and employers will be present offering volunteer, employment or internship opportunities. These include Excelsior Youth Center, Denver Police Department, Rape Assistance and Awareness Program, Arapahoe House, Larimer Center for Mental Health and more.
