Golf tournament
The Metro State Roadrunners Big Ball Little Ball Golf Tournament is this Friday, Sept. 26, at Applewood Golf Course, 14001 W. 32nd
Ave. Shotgun starts begin at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $100 for a single,
$400 for a foursome and includes green fees, golf cart, dinner cookout
and prizes. All proceeds support the men’s basketball and baseball

Food Bank Kickoff
The Metro State Food Bank Kickoff will
be on held on Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the
Flagpole. It will be a food exchange; people are urged to give a food
item and, in exchange, will be given pizza and soda. The event is
sponsored by the Metro State Student Food Bank.

The Institute for Women’s
Studies and Services invites all faculty, staff and students to an open
house on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2-5 p.m., 1033 Ninth St. Appetizers will

Don Quixote
The Book Club Café will meet on Thursday, Oct. 5, to discuss Don Quixote by Miquel de Cervantes Saavedra. Published in two volumes a decade apart, in 1605 and 1615, Don Quixote is the most influential work of literature to emerge from the Spanish Golden Age and perhaps the entire Spanish literary canon. As a founding work of modern Western literature, it regularly appears at the top of lists of the greatest works of fiction ever published.
The
meeting will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Friends Conference Room in
the Auraria Library. Light refreshments will be served.

Save the Date! 2008 Employee Wellness Fair
Metro State
Human Resources in conjunction with Auraria Higher Education Center is
planning the 2008 Employee Wellness Fair for Tuesday, Nov. 4, 7 a.m.-1
p.m. in the Tivoli Turnhalle.
The fair will offer health screenings, flu shots and valuable
information about services and programs for living a more healthy life.
Participants can also meet representatives from their medical plan and
retirement vendors and enter a drawing for door prizes. Morning
refreshments will be served.
