A lecture on exporting democracy, workshops for faculty on grant
writing and using online technology, and a volleyball game supporting
breast cancer survivors are among the events coming to campus this week.
Author on campus

will talk about his book on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 11:30 a.m. in
Tivoli Turnhalle. Coyne is an assistant professor of economics at West

Faculty development workshops
The Center for Faculty Development has two more workshops coming up this month.
“Grant Writing: Resources and Procedures for Metro State Faculty”
will be offered twice: Friday, Oct. 10, 1-3 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 31,
9-11 a.m. Both sessions will be held at the center, AU 014. This
workshop will introduce faculty to both the process they can expect to
follow and the resources they will have when working with the Office of
Sponsored Research and Programs in writing and submitting grant
applications.
The second workshop, “Using Online Tools for Campus Courses,” will
cover the benefits of using online technology, how it can make a
difference in your teaching and how to know if you’re making the best
of it. It will be held Wednesday, Oct. 29, 10-11 a.m. in CN 220.
Space is limited for all sessions. Registration is required. Go to https://www.mscd.edu/MetroCal/ and under “Training” on the left side, select “Faculty Development.”
