Metro State Food Bank holds food drive
The staff of the Metro State Food Bank is holding a fall semester PASTA and PROTEIN food drive on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Tivoli Commons area. If you donate an item, you will get a free slice of pizza.
The food bank is in need of specific items, including canned tuna, canned chicken, boxed pasta meals, beans (dry and canned) and dry pasta. For more information, call the Metro State Food Bank at 303-352-7094 or e-mail metrostatefoodbank@gmail.com.
Auraria Art-Ability holds two receptions for artists
Receptions for artists with Auraria Art-Ability will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 2-4 p.m. in the Multicultural Lounge and from 4-6 p.m. in the Auraria Library gallery. The receptions are sponsored by Campus Recreation at Auraria, Metro State Diversity Initiatives and Meininger. The show runs until Oct. 30. For more information, contact rummelj@mscd.edu.
Location change for African talk
The location for a talk by Karol Boudreaux called "Entrepreneurship and Poverty Alleviation: Empowering People and Improving Communities in Africa” has been moved to the Tivoli Turnhalle on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Boudreaux kicks off the Exploring Economic Freedom Lecture Series, which was funded by a grant secured by Assistant Professor of Economics Alexandre Padilla from the Charles G. Koch Foundation. Boudreaux is a senior research fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University and the lead researcher for Enterprise Africa!, a research project on enterprise-based solutions to poverty in Africa.
